Get the healthy, beautiful smile you deserve in a fun and professional environment.

Orthodontic treatment is a big decision for you and your family, and our caring team will make this an amazing journey.

Your First Visit

Congratulations! You made the decision to begin your orthodontic treatment! Your first visit with Dr. Thurman is complimentary.

During your new patient exam, you'll meet Dr. Thurman and our team. Our treatment coordinator will give you a special tour of the office and take diagnostic photos and X-rays. Dr. Thurman will complete a thorough exam as you discuss your concerns and then suggest the best treatment options.

We know your time is important and we're often available to begin your treatment on the day of your exam if you prefer. To help us provide you with the best experience, please take some time to complete our new patient and health history forms before your first appointment.

The Next Step

After your initial exam, you'll schedule your first appointment to begin your journey. Typically, this is the day you may get your braces or another orthodontic appliance, depending on your customized treatment plan.

This appointment usually takes about an hour. You’ll receive your own orthodontic care kit, and our team will be available to answer all of your questions. We’re here to make sure that you and your family are as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

Scheduling Appointments is Easy

There's never been a better time to begin orthodontic treatment. With today’s technology, appointments are so convenient, and you won't miss much school time or work. You'll visit Dr. Thurman about every four to ten weeks.

It's important that you stay on track with your treatment goals in the estimated time. To accomplish this, it is crucial that you schedule and attend these appointments and we'll work with you to schedule days and times that work best for you. Please give us a call to reschedule when you may be running late for an appointment, or know in advance that you have a conflict so that we may work together to achieve your best results.

Your General Dentist is a vital part of our team

We work closely with your dentist to maintain healthy teeth and gums during your orthodontic treatment. Dr. Thurman recommends that our patients see their general dentist at minimum twice a year for cleanings and evaluation. If he sees that you need additional dental treatment, he will be happy to go the extra mile to coordinate with your dentist to ensure the best result.

We're proud of our continued relationships with our dental teams–we see them as an extension of our team.

The entire staff at Thurman Orthodontics is amazing. Love this place!
